Recent updates to this site include the texts of several of my published essays (mostly and journal articles and chapters for edited books) and presentations that I’ve given at conferences, symposia and research forums. This includes the full text, references and a video of my latest presentation, which was on the batida (electronic dance music) scene in Lisbon. This was prepared for the biennial IASPM UK & Ireland conference, which moved online this year as a result of Covid-19. The conference began on 19 May and is running until 31 July. Each week new video presentations will be added and a new leynote for the week will be livestreamed.
I am also in the process of updating my projects pages to reflect the work I am currently doing on batida and on musical materiality.
